Located in Fulton County, Johns Creek is just north of Atlanta, near to Duluth GA and Suwanee. With a population of 80,000, the city is regarded as one of the best cities to live in nationwide, and is a relatively new city, having recently established it's own local government.

In the 19th century, the Europeans began to colonize the area, establishing trading posts where Rogers, McGinnis, Findley, Buice, Cowart, and Medlock family communities would come together to sell and trade crops & livestock. Many of these family names continue to be seen in the area on roads, as some of these families owned ferries and later bridges locally that helped people cross the Chattahoochie River back in the day. Most notable are McGinnis Ferry (McGinnis Ferry Road) and Rogers Bridge Road as well. These family communities brought a sense of individuality to this undeveloped and underpopulated area of Johns Creek.

Johns Creek has abundantly developed into an incorporated and residential community that maintains the traffic, growth, development, and quality of life for those who live there. Johns Creek is one of the more recent cities in Atlanta, tucked in between Duluth and Alpharetta as you travel north on Rt. 141. There is excellent golfing at River Pines, and you can also catch up on a little history at the Autry Mills Nature Preserve & Heritage Center. There are lots of wonderful ways to occupy yourself and also some fantastic local restaurants as well.

Johns Creek runs along the Chattahoochee River, and is located close to the northeast of McGinnis Ferry Road and next to Forsyth Count, Roswell, Alpharetta, Suwanee, Duluth, Berkeley Lake, and Peachtree Corners. Johns Creek is 27 miles outside of downtown Atlanta so it is a featured and sought after community to live in. The city of John Creek has seen much development in the past few decades, especially since it's new incorporation, and is a community that hosts family with excellent incomes.
